Welcome to Foxlilly Tails
At Foxlilly Tails, we raise Flatcoated Retrievers at home with tender loving care, focusing on health, temperament, and lifelong well-being.
Our Breeding Approach
At Foxlilly Tails, we breed healthy, well-socialised, energetic, fun-loving Flatcoated Retrievers with true-to-breed character. Our dogs are, first and foremost, part of our family, and this reflects the way we raise our puppies with care, attention, and genuine love.
Our puppies grow up in our home environment, surrounded by everyday life, people and positive experiences from the very beginning. This gives them a strong foundation, helping them develop into confident, friendly and well-balanced companions.
Our journey started with Poppy, our much-loved and truly special girl, with whom we have bred two beautiful litters. Now nearly 13 years old, she is still thriving and remains at the heart of everything we do. Lilly, now 5 years old, is one of her daughters from the second litter, carrying forward Poppy’s wonderful temperament, spirit and charm into the next generation.
May 11th is D Day - the scan reveals that Lilly is expecting a minimum of 6 pups!
Pups are due 6 - 8 June 2026!
The Story Behind Foxlilly Tails
My name is Penny Vossen, born and bred in the UK. I moved to the Netherlands in the early 1990s. A nature lover with a passion for animals, especially horses and dogs. Lilly is our second Flatcoated Retriever, born and raised with us. Together with my husband Mark, who now has more time to devote to the pups, we are looking forward to our next litter.
Our three children have all left home. I work from home, combining editing work and English lessons with my role in an NGO in Tanzania, where I am involved in environmental education. This flexible lifestyle enables me to give our dogs and puppies the time, attention, and care they deserve.
Healthy Offspring
Lilly is thoroughly tested for hereditary conditions to ensure healthy offspring.
Family Friendly
We carefully select our parent dogs for their gentle, friendly temperament and gundog experience, making the pups ideal for both families and working dogs.
A Loving home environment
Our puppies are raised in a home environment, surrounded by love and early socialisation.
Meet Tannar – The Sire
Tannar, Vynesbrook Ciano, was born in the UK and lives with his owners Leonie and Marijke in the Netherlands. Tannar is two years old, a Netherlands prize winner. Tannar is a typical Flatcoat with all the breed's characteristic traits - friendly, fun-loving, willing to please and loves gun dog training.
He has already competed in shows with champion-level results and was present at CRUFTS this year. Tannar's gundog qualities (he has participated in a small shoot) have earned him his well-deserved C diploma in gundog training.
His passionate character makes him very people and child-oriented, curious and eager to learn, a real sweetie.
